INTRODUCING

FR. NIKOLAOS C. GALANOPOULOS

Fr. Nikolaos has been appointed to serve the great community of St. Anthony Vineland, NJ by His Grace Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America as of September 1, 2022

The name is Nikolaos C. Galanopoulos and he has been recently appointed as the proistamenos priest of the Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Vineland, NJ. Currently 64 years old, has been a priest since 2008 with prior experience in academia. He has been married to Mary Flegas for 37 years and together they have five children. He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy from Oxford University in Orthodox Canon Law, and studied Theology at Saint Vladimir's Seminary. He has also studied Physics and Math ,though he professes inexperience in computer based and online media communication. He strongly believes in interpersonal communications and favors small group or in person meetings and through them he tries to disseminate his knowledge and awareness of the Orthodox world. When younger he was involved with professional cooking, taking a few classes recreationally. His hope is to accentuate among the Saint Anthony's parishioners the significance of the Orthodox thinking and the centrality of the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross for their daily activities, making it the central criterion of their decisions in a difficult secular world.
